AMV Live Music are proud to announce the return of the very popular Battle of the Wedding Bands Showcase which is to be hosted on Thursday 11th January at As You Like It in Jesmond.
The event which last saw over 250 guests attend, is a chance for prospective engaged couples to watch a showcase of the best wedding bands in the North-East on one stage ‘battling’ for the chance to play at their wedding.
January is a very busy time for wedding planning. Hundreds of people will have gotten engaged over Christmas and as a result, early 2018 is peak time for enquiries in the whole wedding industry.
Tickets to this event are free, discounted cocktails are available and there will be bands performing from 7.30pm throughout the whole evening giving you a unique opportunity for you to pick the perfect band to make your special day an experience you’ll never forget.

This Newcastle based UK Wedding Band, fronted by the inimitable Jessica Avison along with the tightest rhythm section in the North, will provide a talking point long after your wedding is over.
They specialise in groovy pop, juxtaposing classics from the likes of Stevie Wonder and the Jackson Five, through the nineties with James and Sting, with contemporary crowd-pleasers, such as Kaiser and Cee-Lo Green.

This fully live Wedding Band formed 3 years ago, performing in local bars and clubs. After popular demand they are now playing at many Weddings and Corporate Events in regions of the country including the North East, Scotland, Lake District, Yorkshire and the North West.
Indie Rock and Pop is their speciality, aceing covers of the likes of The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis while also offering a great variety of more classic tunes from the likes of Queen and T Rex

The Maverick Rejects are a high energy, party rock trio who’ve spent the best part of a decade bringing their unique brand of Rock N’ Roll to packed dancefloors everywhere.
Founded on the commitment that the role of the Best UK Wedding Party Band should be more than just serving up super-polished versions of Sex on Fire, The Maverick Rejects aim to offer a set alive with interactivity, fun and quirky arrangements of songs you love … just probably never as you’ve heard them before! Groove Central Station are guaranteed to deliver a night to remember, with the very best of soul, funk and pop to have your guests dancing all night long!
With a powerhouse rhythm section, shimmering electric piano, funky guitar and encapsulating, soulful vocals, this wedding and party band are a live act not to be missed. A night on the dance floor with Groove Central Station is set to be filled with good vibes and high times; their carefully curated repertoire lends from the likes of Chic, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Jamiroquai and Nina Simone.

Popular wedding band for hire Livewire’s diverse set list of Funk, Soul, Motown and Rock and Roll, combined with popular contemporary hits, will have your guests on their feet and dancing the night away.
Few bands can boast performing with internationally renowned artists, the likes of Fleur East, Girls Aloud, Mick Hucknall, Liberty X, and ABC’s Martin Fry, but Livewire’s unique mix of male and female lead vocals has seen the band play alongside the best.
